Top Boehner Aide Jeff Strunk Joins Forbes-Tate

House Leadership Staffer Strengthens Bipartisan Reach of Firm

WASHINGTON, DC – Forbes-Tate Founding Partners Jeff Forbes and Dan Tate announced today that they have hired Jeff Strunk as a Senior Vice President. Strunk comes to the firm with more than eight years of experience on Capitol Hill, including the last six with House Republican Leadership, most recently as Deputy Floor Director to Speaker John Boehner.

“For years, Jeff has been a crucial member of our team running the floor of the House. I will miss his hard work and counsel, but I know he will be a valuable asset wherever he goes. I wish him all the best,” Speaker Boehner said.

Strunk has strong relationships with Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle and their staff. He has expertise in parliamentary procedure, House Rules, and understands the inner workings of House Leadership and Congress.

“Jeff is one of the brightest and most talented people I have come across in DC in many years. We are absolutely thrilled to have him joining the team,” Forbes said.

In addition, Strunk brings with him a strong working knowledge of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Veterans, Homeland Security, Judiciary, Immigration, NASA, and Transportation issues. Prior to his time with the Speaker, Strunk worked for Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi, Chairman of the influential Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures.

“As we continue to grow this firm, we are going about it in a very thoughtful and strategic manner and hiring Jeff certainly fulfills one of the highest priorities we set for ourselves back when we launched Forbes-Tate this summer. Jeff gives us the ability to deliver important new services to our current and future clients,” said Tate.

Strunk adds tremendous value to Forbes-Tate’s growing practice areas and will expand on the firm’s already strong bipartisan and bicameral capabilities. He also joins the firm at an exciting time: Forbes-Tate launched as a new practice in July when long-time lobbyist and Democratic strategist Dan Tate joined forces with Jeff Forbes and his firm Cauthen, Forbes & Williams.

Veteran lobbyist John Buscher joined Forbes-Tate in September.

“I could not have asked for a better professional experience than I have had working for the Speaker,” said Strunk. “I thought long and hard about the next step I wanted to take in my career and Forbes-Tate presented a superb opportunity. This is an extremely talented and collaborative team and I am really looking forward to getting started.”

Strunk will officially start with Forbes-Tate in January. In addition to co-founders Forbes and Tate, Strunk joins eight other government and public affairs specialists at the firm including John Buscher, George Cooper, Jay Driscoll, Libby Greer, Rachel Miller, Buck Humphrey, Ryan Welch and Zach Williams. The Forbes-Tate team works together on issue areas including tax, trade, healthcare, communications, appropriations, energy and natural resources.
