Bio

John Buscher joined Forbes-Tate on October 1, 2012 as a Senior Vice President.

John spent almost nine years as a Senior Policy Advisor at Holland & Knight, a major law/lobbying firm in Washington, DC.  He also has over 20 years of experience working on Capitol Hill and in the field of government relations.

John advises a broad array of Fortune 400 corporations, nonprofit organizations, associations, universities, municipalities, technology companies and tribal entities on a host of policy issues before the federal government.  This includes transportation, IT, trade, energy, and tax matters.

John has served as a liaison for his clients to Democratic senators, staff, and interest group representatives.  He responds to inquiries regarding possible legislative outcomes by incorporating institutional understanding and political knowledge from key Democratic staff. His relationships with Democratic senators and Senate leadership have been solidified through years of experience in Democratic politics at the federal level, providing political and policy advice, and by attending Democratic Senate events.

Mr. Buscher is a native of Illinois, and spent seven years as the Director of Governmental Affairs for Chicago-based United Airlines, representing the world’s largest airline before members of Congress and Federal agencies. Prior to his work with United, Mr. Buscher spent four years serving as a Legislative Assistant to two Democratic senators from Illinois. Mr. Buscher has maintained longstanding relationships with members of the Illinois delegation, including President and former Senator Barack Obama.  Mr. Buscher was an early and active supporter of Senator Obama’s first Senate campaign. He maintains strong ties to President Obama’s Administration and political appointees, from the White House to numerous federal agencies.

John lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and son.
