FORMER CONGRESSMAN BOB DOLD JOINS FORBES TATE PARTNERS’ PUBLIC AFFAIRS TEAM
Two-Term Congressman And Ways And Means Member Further Strengthens Growing Strategic Communications And Grassroots Practice
WASHINGTON – Forbes Tate Partners (FTP) today announced that former Congressman Bob Dold (R-IL) has joined the firm’s strategic communications and public affairs practice. Representing and campaigning in one of the most challenging districts for Republicans, Illinois’s 10th Congressional District, Dold demonstrated a unique ability to craft messages that pull together unique coalitions of voters and fellow elected officials.
“Forbes Tate Partners’ Public Affairs practice has grown significantly, largely because of the smart, client-focused strategies they bring to their work,” stated Dold. “I’m excited to build upon that by putting my depth of experience and long-standing commitment to effective leadership, bridge-building and problem solving to work on behalf of the firm’s clients.”
As Congressman, Dold served on the Ways & Means Committee and House Financial Services Committee, building a reputation as one of the most independent members of Congress. Bob’s political career began on the Bush-Quayle campaign, and he later served in the first Bush Administration for then Vice President Dan Quayle, and as Investigative Counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee. He was also a member of the Dole-Kemp presidential campaign in 1996.
Dold, a graduate of Denison University with a law degree from Indiana University and MBA from Northwestern, serves on the Board of Directors for ConservAmerica, a non-profit focused on educating elected leaders and the public about new solutions to environmental challenges, and the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics Advisory Board. He will split his time between Washington, D.C. and suburban Chicago, IL, where he also works with his family’s small business.
“I’ve known and respected Bob since our time together at Denison University, and I’m really excited to have him working with us. Bob’s experience, relationships and understanding of what it takes to move legislation will be a huge resource for clients, potential clients, and our team,” said FTP Founding Partner Jeff Forbes.
FTP’s Public Affairs practice, which has grown to a team of nearly 20 since its creation in 2015, builds grassroots, grasstops and strategic communications campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, coalitions and leading trade associations, working on issues from health care and tax to energy, higher education and manufacturing.
“As a Republican fighting in a D+10 district, Bob lived in a constant campaign, and that experience and mindset, along with the strong networks he has built in the Midwest and here in D.C., will be a tremendous asset for our team,” concluded FTP Founding Partner Dan Tate.
