Senior Website Project Manager, Public Affairs

Position Description

FTP is seeking a senior website project manager to join FTP Digital, our team of creative, process-minded doers. The position will carry the title of Director Web Projects, Public Affairs. This person will collaborate across teams to build and develop complex digital campaigns and tools for our clients. If you’re interested in crafting custom solutions for Fortune 500 companies, membership organizations, the nation’s leading think tanks, nonprofits, and advocacy organizations, we want you to apply. 

The Director Web Projects, Public Affairs will help lead the Digital project management team acting as a lynchpin between our clients, and the design, development, and strategy teams. This role will heavily focus on managing web design and development projects, specifically trade associations and advocacy websites. This person will manage projects internally and communicate directly with clients on their goals, organize project documentation, and test products against technical specifications. In addition, the Director Web Projects, Public Affairs will act as the face of the project to the client, answering their questions, explaining design and development choices, and managing their timelines.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the entire website project lifecycle, from conception to launch and ongoing maintenance. 
  • Work with designers and developers to bring the client’s vision to life. 
  • Translate client goals into product documentation like creative briefs, sitemaps, user flows, and competitive analyses. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, senior leadership, and partners. 
  • Keep projects organized despite shifting priorities and updates to documentation. 
  • Perform quality assurance testing on products by verifying success criteria and assuring browser and device compatibility on new features before deployment. 
  • Meet deadlines across multiple phases, projects and clients. 
  • Foster relationships with clients built on trust and leadership. 
  • Provide quality assurance testing and verify success criteria on new development build before deployment. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of four years’ experience in an agency or internal product team. 
  • Experience with project management systems, must have experience with Teamwork. 
  • Experience in Google Analytics and GA4. 
  • Proficient with WordPress configurations. 
  • Basic knowledge of SEO best practices and security principles. 
  • Organized and cool under pressure. 
  • Superior writing skills. 
  • Experience in client-facing presentations and pitches. 

Bonus Points For 

  • Familiarity with basic development principles like version control and database structures. 
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and browser compatibility. 
  • User experience design education or experience. 
  • Knowledge of basic user experience and design principles. 
  • Know your way around Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch or Figma. 
  • Experience with Figma or other prototyping tools. 
  • Any Project Management certifications. 

Internship Opportunities

The FTP Internship Program offers students and recent graduates substantive, practical, and hands-on experience working at the nexus between the public and private sectors. Our program exposes interns to the daily workings of a highly reputable government relations and public affairs firm and affords them the opportunity to work specifically with our InsightsPublic AffairsResearch and Policy Analysis, or State Government Relations Teams.

Insights

Public Affairs (PA)
Interns conduct research, write analyses, draft media content (including social media posts), prepare memos for meetings, and assist principals with client-facing projects. Please click here for the PA Intern application. 

Research and Policy Analysis (RPA)
Interns conduct legislative and policy analyses, attend and report on congressional hearings and briefings, and draft a broad array of research memoranda on issues including health care, tax, energy, natural resources, financial services, and more. State Government Relations
Interns conduct policy research, track client deliverables, analyze state legislation and regulations, track state political and issue dynamics, write analyses, and assist principals with client-facing projects. FTP hires paid interns each spring, summer, and fall semesters. Interns are paid $17.50/hour. Interested applicants can send a resume, cover letter, and two professional writing samples to internprogram@forbes-tate.com.
