Colleen Elson is a Senior Vice President on the public affairs team at FTP.
Colleen’s extensive work experience includes communications and public affairs campaigns at the federal, state, and local level for a range of clients, including Fortune 50 companies, small non-profits, and associations.
Prior to joining FTP, Colleen ran her own boutique public affairs firm, Elevation Advocacy. Before launching her own firm, Colleen was the Vice President of Public Affairs at Capitol Direct Messaging, LLC (CDM) where she managed issue advocacy campaigns for clients across industry sectors, including AARP and Ford Motor Company.
Additionally, Colleen served as the National Network and Channels Manager at National Strategies, LLC (NSI) managing a nationwide network of lobbyists and public affairs consultants. Colleen also served as the Associate Director of Government and Public Affairs at the American Society of Interior Designers. In her role at ASID Mrs. Elson provided strategic guidance to state coalitions on industry regulation, crisis communications management, and prioritization of the Society’s legislative agenda. Prior to her role at ASID, Mrs. Elson managed grassroots issue advocacy campaigns for Fortune 100 companies at DCI Group, LLC.
Mrs. Elson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, she studied at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. Mrs. Elson resides in Alexandria, VA with her husband, son, and two rescue pups.
