Kristina Dunklin is a Partner at FTP.
Kristina has extensive experience on Capitol Hill having worked for members of both the House Appropriations Committee and Energy and Commerce Committee. While in these roles, she primarily focused on health care, agriculture, and water and environmental issues. Her in-depth knowledge of the appropriations process has secured numerous victories for clients across multiple sectors.
As Legislative Director for Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-IN), Kristina managed office’s legislative agenda while concentrating on the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee portfolio during the passage of the SUPPORT Act, to address the nationwide opioid epidemic, and the 2019 Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) reauthorization.
Before joining Congresswoman Brooks’ office, Kristina spent nearly six years with Congressman David G. Valadao (R-CA) during his first three terms in Congress. As Rep. Valadao’s Legislative Director, Kristina managed the legislative agenda, including his House Appropriations Committee activities, while focused on agriculture, health, energy, trade, and water policy. Kristina was instrumental in shepherding into law the Congressman’s paramount legislation, the Western Water and American Food Security Act, providing the foundation for the California water provisions included in the 2016 Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act.
Kristina’s career in politics began as an intern for the Independent candidate running to replace San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom after he was appointed to serve as California’s Lieutenant Governor. She subsequently worked for her hometown Congressman, Devin G. Nunes (R-CA), and has been actively engaged in Republican politics for over a decade, working on local, state, and congressional races in California, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Kristina is originally from Fresno, California, and holds a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in Communications from Santa Clara University. In her free time, Kristina enjoys traveling to new places, spending time outside, and skiing the Rocky Mountains.
