Chamberlayne Provides Firm with Expanded West Coast Presence
WASHINGTON – Forbes Tate Partners (FTP) announced today Charles Chamberlayne, a long-time communicator, connector, and expert at developing public engagement strategies for businesses, government, and high-profile individuals will be joining the firm as “of counsel.” Charles served as a spokesperson and communications strategist for three U.S. senators, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer. Additionally, former Bustos and Heitkamp strategist Tom Bryant will be joining FTP as a senior director.
“We’re excited to welcome a prominent communicator like Charles to our team,” said FTP Founding Partner Jeff Forbes. “Charles’ passion for his work and expressive communications style has achieved success time and time again. From developing strong partnerships for his hometown city of San Diego, to securing public engagement on the national level, we know he will deliver results for our clients.”
“Always finding new ways to communicate and take an assignment to the next level, Charles strives to make the most of each message, news release and event, so much so that the term ‘Chamberlaynize’ is often heard when he’s on a project,” said former City of San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer. “Through all the years I’ve known Charles, I’ve seen his excellence in branding and exceptional ability to engage the public. Whether we were with media, government or business leaders, Charles’ unique skillsets have ensured that our messages successfully reached millions of people in our communities and around the world.”
On Capitol Hill, Charles’ career highlights include garnering media attention on the Senate’s effort to address mental health issues for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, working to ensure Rosa Parks became the first woman to lie in honor in the U.S. Capitol, organizing support for the Central American Free Trade Agreement, handling media coverage of President Ronald Reagan’s state funeral, and working with National Urban League President Marc H. Morial to coordinate the first National Urban League Legislative Policy Conference on Capitol Hill in 2003. Hailing from San Diego, California, Charles helped lead communications for the city’s $3 billion operations, which includes corporate partnerships, economic development, and other major city announcements.
Tom Bryant will be joining FTP as a senior director, bringing nearly a decade of experience in direct voter contact, campaign management, persuasion messaging, and non-profit advocacy. Prior to joining FTP, Tom served as campaign manager for U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) and coordinated campaign director for former U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.).
“Tom is exactly what we need more of in politics; a sharp political mind with the values, work ethic, and heart to back it up,” said former U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp. “Tom sees a challenge as an opportunity, and I know he’ll be a valuable member of the Forbes Tate team.”
“We’re really excited Tom has joined us, his expertise and insight are already benefiting clients,” concluded FTP Founding Partner Dan Tate.
