Forbes Tate Partners Continues to Grow Republican Influence with Addition of Veteran Senate Republican
Rick Murphy Becomes FTP’s Newest Partner
WASHINGTON, DC – Today veteran Republican Hill aide Rick Murphy joins Forbes Tate Partners (FTP) as a Partner, where he will work as an integral part of the firm’s growing Republican practice.
“Forbes Tate Partners’ reputation is second to none – put simply, they deliver for their clients,” said Rick Murphy. “Having previously founded my own firm, it’s clear to me that Jeff and Dan have built a great firm that is equipped to succeed in any environment, and I look forward to adding my Republican contacts and work ethic to the FTP team.”
Prior to joining FTP, Rick served as Chief of Staff to Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH). In this capacity, Rick oversaw a staff of forty people while working closely with Senate Republican Leadership on a daily basis to implement the Senator’s legislative priorities.
“Rick is a very capable leader who is well known in the Senate and highly respected by Senate Republican leadership. He has a proven track record of delivering results and I have no doubt that Rick will continue to be successful in his new endeavor,” said Senator Ayotte.
“When you have the opportunity to work with someone of Rick’s caliber, you seize it,” said Forbes Tate Partners Founding Partner Dan Tate, Jr. “Few people know their way around the Hill quite like Rick, and his experience working with Senate leadership will be invaluable to our firm during the 115th Congress and beyond.”
Rick started his political career working for then-Governor Judd Gregg’s (R-NH) campaign for the United States Senate. On the campaign, Rick was the chief field operative responsible for the county organizations and advancing the Governor ahead of his campaign stops.
With the successful election of Judd Gregg to the United States Senate, Rick moved to Washington and was named Legislative Assistant by Senator Gregg. After working for Senator Gregg through his first term, Rick left the Senate and opened his own lobbying firm, R. B. Murphy & Associates, LLC, which he ran for fifteen years. Rick’s firm quickly gained a strong track record of effectively representing its clients before the federal government. Mr. Murphy’s firm represented Fortune 50 companies, leading trade associations, America’s leading physicists, and an array of public and private companies.
Rick returned to the Senate in 2014 to serve as Chief of Staff to Senator Kelly Ayotte.
“We could not be happier to have Rick join the firm. His more than two decades of experience in public policy, political campaigns, and political consulting and his deep ties to Republican leaders throughout the Senate make him a critically important asset to our current and potential clients,” said Jeff Strunk, Partner at Forbes Tate Partners.
Originally from Middlebury, CT, Rick received his Bachelor’s from New England College in Henniker, NH.
