Bob Dold is a Partner joining the firm in 2017 after serving two terms in the United States Congress representing Illinois’ 10th Congressional District. He is known for his pragmatic leadership, commitment to tax reform, healthcare improvements, and a bipartisan approach to governance. A dedicated public servant and small business owner, Dold built a reputation as an independent voice in Congress, working to bring both parties together to achieve meaningful policy solutions.
During his time in Congress, Dold prioritized tax reform to support small businesses and middle-class families. With firsthand experience as a business owner, he understood the challenges entrepreneurs faced and championed tax policies that encouraged growth, job creation, and economic stability. He supported legislation to simplify the tax code, lower burdens on small businesses, and provide incentives for innovation and investment. Dold worked to ensure that families had greater financial security, advocating for middle-class tax relief while promoting responsible fiscal policies to reduce the national deficit.
Dold was a key advocate for practical healthcare reform that focused on affordability, accessibility, and innovation. He opposed efforts that would strip protections from individuals with pre-existing conditions and worked to improve aspects of the Affordable Care Act while addressing its shortcomings. He consistently supported bipartisan efforts to strengthen healthcare markets, lower prescription drug costs, and expand healthcare choices for families and businesses. His approach prioritized patient-centered solutions, ensuring that individuals and employers had access to high-quality, affordable healthcare options.
As the chairman of the Tuesday Group, a caucus of moderate Republican lawmakers, Dold was instrumental in fostering bipartisan cooperation in Congress. He worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between Republicans and Democrats, believing that meaningful progress could only be achieved through collaboration. Under his leadership, the Tuesday Group played a crucial role in shaping legislation that prioritized practical solutions over partisan gridlock. He frequently worked with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to address issues such as infrastructure, economic policy, and government transparency.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Bob served as an investigative counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee and ran a small business.
