Dorothy Walsh brings more than 20 years of experience in political campaigns and federal relations to FTP.
Prior to joining FTP, Dorothy was President of D & D Strategies, LLC, a lobbying consulting company. Dorothy also served as Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff to former Senator Bill Nelson. She acted as a liaison to the Senator on legislative matters affecting large employers, especially issues before the Committees on Commerce and Finance. Dorothy also led the effort for the Senator’s legacy work including overseeing archiving and site selection for his liaison to historical record.
Before joining Senator Nelson’s team, Dorothy was Vice President – Congressional Relations and External Affairs for Qwest Communications. There, she worked on issues related to telecommunications, corporate taxes, and spectrum issues, and led company efforts on messaging for grassroots outreach. Dorothy was also the Executive Director for Federal Relations for Ameritech Corporation where, she worked with Congress and the White House regarding the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and helped prepare the company for their merger with SBC. Dorothy has also organized volunteer activities for federal and state candidates.
Dorothy attended San Diego State University and serves as Board Member of the Anne Arundel County Women’s Giving Circle. She also enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay, where she currently lives.
