LEADING DEMOCRATIC POLICY STRATEGIST RYAN MCCONAGHY JOINS FORBES TATE PARTNERS

FTP Continues Growth, Adding Senator Schumer, DPCC Alum as New Partner and New Analysts

WASHINGTON –Forbes Tate Partners (FTP) today announced the addition of Ryan McConaghy as a Partner. In his new role, McConaghy will help grow the firm’s strategic communications and public affairs team. McConaghy brings with him nearly two decades of experience serving in senior leadership roles for Democrats in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as leading the Democratic Policy and Communications Center (DPCC) and holding top positions in think tanks and successful campaigns.

Before joining FTP, McConaghy served as a senior advisor to Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer, helping to shape policy development and strategy. While leading the DPCC, he built and directed campaigns integrating policy analysis, legislative action, media outreach, public opinion research, rapid response, and stakeholder engagement on topics including economic policy, budget and tax, implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and immigration reform, among others. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Democratic Secretary, counseling senators on how to use the rules and precedents of the Senate to accomplish their goals.

“Forbes Tate is known for their winning strategies and, importantly, for the depth and strength of the team,” said McConaghy. “Many firms in the beltway claim to be subject matter experts, client-first, bipartisan, you name it – but FTP has actually taken that to heart. This team has unmatched reach to policymakers and influencers across the political spectrum and I can’t wait to get started.”

Prior to his recent work in the U.S. Senate, McConaghy served as the Director of the Economic Program at Third Way, where he helped to guide the organization’s efforts on an array of issues tied to economic growth and middle-class success. In that role he organized public forums, and often appeared on national media outlets to represent the organization’s views and comment on political matters. He also served as Policy Director during Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s successful 2006 campaign, where he was responsible for policy briefing and development, issue research, and rapid response support.

“As the 116th Congress begins, Ryan’s experience and proven successes deepen our existing bench of experts,” said Founding Partner Jeff Forbes. “Ryan’s expertise crafting successful messaging in Congress, on the campaign trail, and in the think tank community will be key for our clients as the policy landscape develops in 2019. We’re thrilled he is joining us at such a crucial time, as are our clients.”

Also joining FTP’s public affairs practice are Jane Diegel and Ronja Kleinholz, both as Analysts. Diegel joins FTP from a D.C.- based government affairs firm, where she planned and organized client fly-ins and fundraising efforts. Kleinholz most recently worked at a strategic communications firm, assisting with research and media outreach for a wide range of clients.
